The swim starts on the sandy foreshore of Wollongong harbour, which is mostly protected from the elements, and safe for swimming. Lifesavers carefully monitor the swim and are on hand if needed.
Each event is further divided into age and gender groups for safety. Kids are kept close to shore with excellent supervision by our lifesavers.
Once the swim is completed, its time to run to the 'change area', swap goggles for joggers, and off you run...
There are 3 different run turn points depending on your event, with all events that finish on the sand on North Beach (800m from harbour). The run is mostly on cycle path and flat grass along the scenic coastline. At the finish hand in your time chip, grab a drink and refreshments and enjoy the reward of finishing,
Teams: the swimmer begins, then exits water and 'tags' (swap velcro timer worn on ankle) runner to finish the course. A team zone is set up.
Entry is open to any individual or tag team. Refer to each event for minimal age categories.
